this fine building dating back to the early 1800's The Woodman is one of Ide Hill's
original ale-houses.
Our choice of hand-pulled ales and fine wines are just as enticing today as they have
always been, but we like to think that our food has developed from those days long ago.
Now our chalkboards boast a host of dishes, freshly prepared by our skilled chefs with
fresh fish a speciality - all served in belt-loosening portions.
The pub has recently been completely restored to its former glory and now soft music,
candles, old photos and an abundance of hops help create a cosy atmosphere.

The Woodman offers all of this and more. Located in an idyllic spot, nestling in beautiful countryside surrounded by historic houses and many

We take pride in old fashioned notions of a warm welcome with first class service, freshly
prepared food and a selection of cask-conditioned ales and fine wines.
 The extensive menus are displayed on chalkboards with up to 40 main
courses of creative cooking, allowing our skilled chefs to show off their flair in
creating their own speciality dishes.
At The Woodman we take wines seriously. We have an extensive wine list, as well as a
specials board of specially chosen vintage and seasonal wines all available by the glass
and by the bottle.
All our wines have been specially selected. The selection features a good range of
traditional and New World wines including everything from a Chablis to an Australian
Shiraz.
Our choice of traditional hand-pulled and cask-conditioned ales are as enticing today as
